CANVEY ISLAND FC ARE RECRUITING – SOCIAL MEDIA MANAGER

CANVEY ISLAND FC ARE RECRUITING – SOCIAL MEDIA MANAGER

Andy Wilkins

Canvey Island Football Club are looking to add to our growing media team with a Social Media Manager.

Canvey Island Football Club are looking to add to our growing media team with a Social Media Manager.

This is a voluntary role, but it’s also an opportunity to gain real experience, build your portfolio, develop your skills and play a genuine part in the growth of a football club.

What’s in it for you?

We want this to be a role that benefits you as much as it benefits the club.

As part of the Canvey Island FC media team, you’ll have the opportunity to:

• Build practical experience in football and sports social media
• Develop and showcase your creative and digital skills
• Build a portfolio of real work and content
• Have the freedom to bring your own ideas to the club
• Gain experience interviewing players, management and club officials
• Work alongside an existing media team and learn from others
• Build contacts and experience within the football and media environment
• See your work reach supporters and help influence how the club is presented
• Help develop the club’s online presence and play a part in growing attendances
• Take ownership of projects and campaigns while having the support of the wider team

Whether you’re looking to build experience for a future career in social media, marketing, journalism, sports media or content creation, or simply want to put your skills into practice in a football environment, this is an opportunity to get involved and make a difference.

What will the role involve?

The role will focus on developing our social media presence, engaging with supporters, reaching new audiences and ultimately helping to drive attendances at our matches.

Responsibilities will include:

• Managing and developing the club’s social media channels
• Planning and scheduling engaging content
• Promoting upcoming fixtures and encouraging supporters to attend
• Creating content around matchdays, results, news and club activity
• Helping promote club events, initiatives and commercial opportunities
• Developing ideas and campaigns to increase engagement and reach
• Interviewing players, management and club officials for special occasions, features and other content
• Engaging with supporters and helping grow our online community
• Working alongside the wider media team to produce creative and consistent content
• Looking at new and innovative ways to improve our social media output

Flexible, but part of the team

We firmly believe that one person shouldn’t be burdened with all of the work.

You’ll be joining an existing media team, with people already contributing across different areas of the club’s communications, content and coverage.

We’re flexible about how the job gets done. We’re not looking to prescribe exactly when or where you create your content, and we understand that everyone has commitments outside of football.

What we do ask for is commitment and loyalty to Canvey Island FC and the role. We need someone who is reliable, communicates with the team and is willing to play their part.

You won’t be expected to attend every match or be available seven days a week. What matters is getting the job done, working with the rest of the team and helping us move forward.

Help us tell the Gulls’ story

There is so much happening at Canvey Island FC, both on and off the pitch, and we want our social media to reflect that.

If you’re creative, enthusiastic about social media and want to gain experience, build your portfolio, develop your skills and help grow a football club, we’d love to hear from you.
