Match Preview

On Saturday 22nd January, we will welcome Barking to Park Lane as we compete in the Pitching In Isthmian North Division, 3pm kick-off. This has all the ingredients to be a cracking match!

We come into this match following a very impressive 3-0 win away to playoff hopefuls, AFC Sudbury. This win sent us back to the top of the league, and the lads will be aiming to secure a 4th consecutive league win.

Barking come into this match following a very impressive 3-1 win at Aveley, in the BBC Essex Senior Cup 3rd Round!

We can expect to see new signing, Bradley Sach in the Canvey squad. Bradley joins us from Pitching In Isthmian Premier Division side, Bowers & Pitsea. The last time ourselves and Barking met was earlier this season when we triumphed 4-2 at Barking.

We would like to take this opportunity to wish everyone associated with Barking a safe journey to and from the match, and a pleasant afternoon.

Wellmen's Words
Chris Smith caught up with Brad Wellmen ahead of the game. Brad said: "Barking are a dangerous side. They have made some good signings and have an experienced team, who have seen an upturn in their results of late. They are probably in a false position for the level of players that they have, and their recent results have shown this.

They will be a threat, but we've spoken about that in training and the players understand what's required to keep our winning run going.

We have 16 games left in the season, and the next 6 games will set us up nicely to attack the last 10 games, as we shall know exactly what's required to achieve the targets that we set in pre-season.

The atmosphere at home games has been fantastic of late. It gives us that extra push in games, so hopefully another strong and vocal Yellow Army support this weekend and for the remainder of the season. This will give us the opportunity to do something special this year."

Clubhouse Information
The clubhouse will be open from 12:30, and live football will be televised.

As previously mentioned; following the changes to the governments COVID restrictions, face coverings will now be optional when moving through our clubhouse. Our preference would be that people continue to wear masks, and we would encourage their use, although we will not be enforcing this.

The seating policy within the clubhouse has also been removed, meaning that supporters can sit or stand wherever they choose. We will however be maintaining the queuing system at the bar to purchase drinks.
