On Saturday 14th August, our eagerly anticipated 2021/22 league campaign begins as we make the trip to Suffolk to take on newly promoted side, Stowmarket Town, kick-off 3pm.

Stowmarket recently gained promotion from the Eastern Counties Premier Division to the Isthmian North.

We last met Stowmarket Town in 1989 when we travelled there for a pre-season friendly, where we triumphed 4-2, with the likes of Billy Heale on the score sheet.

Chris Smith asked Mark Bentley how he felt prior to Saturday's match, Mark said: “We’ve had a good pre-season and the squad is looking fit, but we have a tough start. We know that Stowmarket are going to be right up for it. Everyone has been keeping fit and healthy and we are ready.

Matty Price is touch and go as he has been suffering from a back injury, although we are hopeful that he’ll start. We look forward to having the Canvey fans there with us, cheering us on.”

Getting to Stowmarket Town

Train: Trains run from Stratford to Stowmarket on a regular basis. The ground is just a short walk away from the station.
