On Saturday we make the short journey to Burroughs Park to take on Great Wakering Rovers in the BetVictor Isthmian League North, kick off at 15:00.
The Rovers are currently 5th in the table and come into this match following a 2-1 defeat away to Tilbury on Tuesday night in the Velocity Trophy.
This will be our 16th competitive match against the Great Wakering, with our record to date reading P 15, W 8, D 2, L 5, F 26, A 18. Our last encounter was less than a month ago when the Rovers won 2-0 at Park Lane, also in the Velocity Trophy.
There will be a new signing in the Canvey Island squad in the shape of young forward Freddy Eastwood who arrives on a month's work experience from Southend United. Eastwood has been a regular goalscorer for Southend's U18's side having coming through the Shrimpers' youth setup, the club where his namesake and father became a club legend.
