The Gulls were under pressure from the visitors inside the opening ten minutes as Greg Cundle cut the ball back to captain Tijan Jadama inside the penalty area with his shot flying wide of the post and minutes later Solomon Ogunwomoju and Benedict Bioletti work the ball in behind with Bioletti taking a heavy touch which allowed Jacob Marsden to jump into action to claim it.
After twenty minutes the Gulls had the ball in the back of the net after a cross from the right-hand side, however the Referee had already blown for a free-kick on the edge of the area, which
was curled over the bar. Action returned to the opposite end soon after with Solomon Ogunwomoju holding off Kenedi Dariri to lay it back for Billy Munday who couldn’t keep his first-time effort below the crossbar.

Two minutes later Kenedi Dariri caused a stoppage in play as he required treatment following a battle with Ogunwomoju, which forced him to leave the action and constrained Garry Kimble into an early substitution, as a result young Dominykas Bobrovskij made an appearance off the bench.
Just past the thirty-minute mark Conor Hubble had a shot from the edge of the box, which he saw bounce wide of the post. Four minutes later the Rams found themselves with a corner, Alfie Paxman’s delivery was met emphatically by defender Raphe Brown for the visitors to take the lead.
Minutes before half-time Freddie Price had the ball in the box and he dragged his cross across the face of goal, hover no-one was there to meet his delivery and the ball rolled out for a goal-kick. Into added-time it was the Rams causing the canvey back-line problems as Tijan Jadama’s cut back found Solomon Ogunwomoju, who took it around his defender before unleashing a shot, which was well saved by Jacob Marsden who parried it away. Seven minutes into additional-time it was Calum Newson who found the back of the net for the Gulls, as he fired his strike high and hard from the right-hand side of the box into the roof of the net to level the scoring before the break.

On the stroke of half-time Alfie Paxman curled a dangerous free-kick goal-wards but the Canvey keeper was the hero again, pulling off another outstanding stop as he tipped it onto the crossbar.
Half-time, Canvey Island 1-1 Ramsgate.
The second-half saw a lively start, in favour of the visitors, with Greg Cundle getting in behind and lashing an effort towards goal from the right-hand side of the area, which he saw clip the bar before going over for a goal-kick. Ramsgate also made a change early in the second-half as Ian Gayle replaced Mason Hunter.
Pinball on the edge of the Cnavey box saw the ball land to Benedict Bioletti, who squared the ball across goal, however neither Jadama or Ogunwomoju could get a touch to direct it goal-wards. Literal seconds later the Rams found the lead again, an initial great save from Jacob Marsden to deny Greg Cundle landed at the feet of Solomon Ogunwomoju who fired the visitors into the lead.
The Gulls found an instant response to Ramsgate’s second of the day by tapping home an equaliser a minute later. Andrew Sesay was the one who flicked it past Brandon Locke to give the Gulls their second of the day, and to open his account in yellow and blue.

The Rams made three substitutions following Sesay’s equaliser with Harry Webster, goalscorer Raphe Brown and Benedict Bioletti all making way for Henry Lukombo, Oliver Jackson and TQ Addy.
Into the final fifteen where it was the Gulls on the advance with Junior Nkwonta’s strike forcing a save from the Ramgate number one, and a little after it was Freddie Prices’ effort that rattled the post and bounced clear.

The visitors were starting to grow into the second-half again after the Gulls’ good spell was begining to wear off with Billy Munday finding Tijan Jadama on the edge of the box, but Jacob Marsden was there again to deny the Rams their third with a good save down to his right. Three minutes later Ramsgate found a breakthrough with Jadama beating to Canvey defenders before crossing it to Solomon Ogunwomoju who found the bottom corner from six-yards out, and grabbed his second of the afternoon.
Full of confidence, Ramsgate’s Ogunwomoju beats his man and lobs Jacob Marsden only to be denied by to outside of the post, three minutes into added-time the visitors would claim their fourth of the day. Solomon Ogunwomoju claimed his hat-trick after Alfie Paxman’s shot deflects into his path where he simply taps home to seal the three points for Ramsgate.
