Canvey Island suffered a humiliating 4-0 defeat against relegation rivals Hashtag United at Parkside on Saturday. The Gulls had the worst possible start when Luke May-Parrot got his first of the day inside 4 minutes. But worse was to come as he then netted on 23 and 37 minutes to complete his hat trick before half time. For Canvey Island poor defending did not help the cause and at the other end failed to really create a chance.
In the second half neither team made an impact despite numerous substitutions. Charlie Stimson had a long range effort saved and then Max Cornhill added a fourth in the 86th minute,
A very disappointing result for Canvey who need to improve if they are to make ground on the teams above. The Gulls host fellow strugglers Chichester City at the Steves Taxis stadium on Tuesday night in what is now looking like a must win match as the we reach the half way point of the Season.
