Gulls picked up a useful point from a 2-2 draw against Carshalton Athletic at the Steve Taxis' Stadium.
In an even game in which both teams had spells of pressure, Canvey lead twice but were eventually pegged back by the Robins.
Canvey made a fast start to the game taking the lead within the first 4 minutes of the game.
The in form Max Fiddes chased a flicked pass through from Matas Skarna and got to the ball just before Matt Kerbey to lob the ball over the keeper and into the net.
Carshalton found a way back into the game on 25 minutes when after chasing a long ball forward Abs Salami held off the defender and fired a composed finish past George Barrett.
Luke Read tested Barrett with a long range effort on the stroke of half time that the Canvey keeper helped over the crossbar.
Into the second half and on 60 minutes Barrett was alert to turn a curling free kick from Fabio Saraiva over the bar.
Canvey took the lead again on 67 minutes when a right wing cross was not held by Kerbey and Fiddes was alert enough to hook the loose ball back towards goal with the ball dropping into the net.
Robins didn't give up and on 85 minutes grabbed an equaliser after a quick break down the right saw Noah Nzuzi turning the ball home from close range.
Despite a few attacking flurries from Carshalton in the last few minutes, Canvey held out for a point.
