Canvey Island made it 4 straight defeats from their opening 4 games with a 2-0 defeat against Dulwich Hamlet at Champion Hill.
Despite playing well for spells in the game, Canvey struggled to create chances in front of goal and were undone by some ruthless finishing from Dulwich.
Dulwich dominated the early exchanges with Lewis Greene making a good save from a long range effort.
Dulwich controlled possession but for the most part Gulls defended well with Kenedi Dariri impressing.
Some good play by Elliott Johnson in midfield provided an opportunity for Chris Regis who dragged his shot wide from the edge of the penalty area.
Hamlet responded with Greene spreading himself well to block a close range shot.
Matas Skarna tested Toby Bull with a 25 yard free kick on 33 minutes.
Into the second half and a good break by Shaun Mavididi down the left nearly provided an opportunity for Canvey but his cross to the near post was cleared from danger.
Dulwich though took the lead on 51 minutes when after a period of sustained pressure, Michael Chambers headed home.
Canvey's situation was made even worse when Kwabena Yeboah was sent off on 72 minutes for a second yellow card after a clumsy tackle.
Dulwich completed the scoring with virtually the final kick of the game when substitute Anthony Cook spotted Greene off of his line and sent an audacious long range effort over him and into the net.
Gulls look to win their first points of the season when they face Aveley on Bank Holiday Monday.
