Canvey Island travel to Kings Langley on Saturday for their latest Isthmian Premier League clash against Potters Bar Town.
Our Opponents
Potters Bar Town come into this League match after an impressive 2-1 win against play-off chasing Chichester City. The Scholars currently sit safely in 14th position in the league. They are also chasing a trophy having clinched a place in the Hertfordshire County Cup Final with a 2-1 away win at Cheshunt in the Semi Final on Tuesday night. The Mercurial Rickie Hayles is still playing a leading role in the team Scoring the winning goal against Chichester last weekend.
The Gulls
Well what a week it has been for Canvey. In the League last week we recorded an impressive 4-0 win at home to Lewes to set us up for Tuesdays BBC Essex Senior Cup Final against Hornchurch. A night to remember where a very late Bradley Sach equaliser saw the Gulls into a penalty shootout where a perfect performance from the spot saw the Gulls through to victory.
Another win at Potters Bar would really improve our League position ahead of the vital trip to Hastings United on Tuesday. Back in January the Scholars won 2-1 at the Steves Taxis Stadium lets hope we can reverse that result.
