Canvey Island embark on their last long haul trip south of the Thames this season on Saturday, as they journey to Whitehawk for another big match in the Isthmian League Premier.

Our Opponents
The Hawks have enjoyed a solid first season back in the Isthmian League Premier after a 4 year absence, with the club currently sitting in 14th at the time of writing, needing just two points or results below them to go their way this weekend in order to match mathematically certain of another season in the division.
They've been in good form of late and we're unbeaten in 8 matches until last Saturday, having picked up results against playoff chasing Bognor Regis Town and Dulwich Hamlet in that period. That form came unstuck however against the champions elect on Saturday, as they suffered a 4-0 reverse to Hornchurch at the Enclosed Ground.
Still, manager Shaun Saunders has built a side capable of matching up to any side in the division on their day. A solid defence marshalled by Ryan Worrall and the experienced Tommy Brewer, among others, helps make them a tough nut to crack. Up front, their strike force of Charlie Walker and Charlie Lambert have an impressive combined total of 32 goals this season. Goalkeeper Mitch Walker is also among one of the divisions top performers between the sticks.
We met the Hawks at home back in September, where despite taking the lead early on through a Conor Hubble penalty, the Gulls were ultimately defeated 2-1 by their opponents.
The Gulls
Canvey meanwhile, are still searching for their first win in the league since February 10th. They came close to that goal on Saturday, but were made to settle for just a point in a 2-2 draw against Hashtag United.
Elliott Johnson and Bradley Sach fired the Gulls into the lead in the first half, but two goals just before the end of their half meant that the wait for a win continues.
The Run In
The Gulls are currently 12 points from the drop zone at the time of writing, with Margate's win at Cheshunt on Tuesday narrowing the gap.
They required 6 more points to make certain of another season of Isthmian Premier football, or for sides below them to fail to win in their next 3 games.

Yellow Army, we thank you for your continued support after what has been a difficult few weeks off the pitch.
Brad Wellmen recently stated in his interview the desire to "keep together and keep the continuity" with the fans, something the squad also echoes as we enter the last month of the season with one more hurdle to overcome.
We have no doubt though that we'll see plenty of the Yellow Army make the journey on Saturday as they've done all season.
We wish you all a safe journey down to Brighton.
