Canvey Island look are back at home as they host Kingstonian on Saturday at the Moviestarr Stadium.

Our Opponents

The Ks have endured a tough season at just over the halfway mark, with the club sitting 21st in the league standings - second from bottom - at the time of writing. Despite their league woes however, they're still competing in the Surrey Senior Cup and the Velocity Trophy.

They are currently 10 games without a league win, last successful back on November 7th, and haven't picked up a point since December 16th after a 2-2 draw with fellow strugglers Margate. They come into this game off the back of a 3-1 defeat at home to promotion chasers Billericay Town last weekend.

Despite their struggles however, manager Simon Lane still has the spine of a side that can suprise anyone in the league on their day, with the experience of Rob Tolfrey and Eddie Dsane at either end of the pitch, and defenders like Hakeem Adelakun and Mason Saunders-Henry no pushovers.

The K's have already gotten the better of us once this season too, with our last meeting in South London back in August ending in a 2-1 victory to our hosts. Despite Charlie Edwards levelling up the scores, a goal at both the start and end of the game were enough to grant Kingstonian the points. The Gulls were below par that day and will be out for payback this time around.

Canvey meanwhile, will be hoping their previously good home form returns after a defeat on the road last weekend.

They found themselves on the end of a 2-1 reverse to one of the basement battlers Haringey Borough. Despite Elliott Ronto putting the Gulls ahead early on, two late strikes from the hosts condemned them to another defeat on the road, slipping to 14th in the table.

Their scheduled home match with Lewes in the week was postponed (again) following a failed pitch inspection.

Yellow Army, it's been a tough season so far for the squad, despite their best efforts, and with a hectic January schedule still to come, it dosent show signs of slowing down.

It's always clear to everyone though that the support you give the team is fantastic, turning up in numbers home and away.

On a matchday at Park Lane, anything can happen, and the team will need you on Saturday for another crucial chapter in the story of the season.
