Canvey Island face a huge test under the floodlights on Tuesday evening as they travel to league leaders Bishop’s Stortford in the Isthmian League Premier.

The Blues are enjoying a fantastic season at present, their good form seeing them sitting top of the tree at the time of writing, in a tight race for the title. At home particularly, they have been most impressive, losing just once at the R&D Advisors UK Stadium in the league all season.

It hasn't been all plain sailing in an unpredictable division however, as they found on the road at Folkestone Invicta on Saturday, succumbing to a 3-0 defeat on the Kent coast.

The Gulls meanwhile, took a big stride toward their own promotion ambitions on Saturday, as they produced a 5-0 demolition job against Potters Bar Town at the Moviestarr Stadium.
Conor Hubble, Bradley Sach, Rob Girdlestone, Elliott Ronto and Evans Kouassi checked off the scoresheet on the day.

Results elsewhere saw the Gulls open up a three point and two game gap on their nearest opponents. However, the margins still remain tight, with other sides around them still having games in hand of their own to play. With this the first of two games in hand for Canvey, the chance for a playoff spot is still very much in their hands.

This will our 18th competitive meeting with Bishop’s Stortford in all competitions.
The reverse fixture at the Moviestarr Stadium saw one of the best results of the season so far, as the Gulls earned a 2-0 victory over their opponents, with two stunning goals from Bradley Sach and Evans Kouassi.

With just 10 games remaining in the Isthmian League season, the 'business end' of the campaign has well and truly arrived. With all still to play for, we thank you once again for your magnificent support this season, and hope to see the Yellow Army out in force in Hertfordshire on Tuesday night.
