Canvey Island exited the Essex Senior Cup after an abysmal 6-0 defeat to Hullbridge at Lower Road.

Canvey were never in the contest against their Essex Senior League opponents who featured former Gulls legend Bobby Mason in goal.

Hullbridge took the lead on 22 minutes when Kieran Jones raced on to a through ball and dinked the ball over the onrushing Casey Clark and into the net.

Even worse was to follow when former Gull Nick Dembele fired home on 31 minutes.

Into the second half and Hullbridge added a third with Archie McFadden who had a brief spell with the Gulls in the summer drilling home an effort from close range on 54 minutes.

Freddy Agyemang added a 4th on 65 minutes running on to a through ball and finishing well past Clark.

A terrible evening was made even worse on 79 minutes when Elliott Ronto was shown a red card.

It was 5 on 88 minutes when Agyemang headed home from a few yards out from a right wing corner.In injury time.

A sixth was scored when Marcus Machovas scored from close range to complete the scoring.
