Canvey Island continued their good pre-season on Saturday, as they overcame Island neighbours Concord Rangers 3-0 at the Steve Taxi's Stadium.
In another match involving a host of promising trialists, it was the Gulls that dominated much of the match over their Isthmian North opposition, with the contest out of sight by half time.
Canvey were ahead after just 7 minutes, with two trialists combining down the flanks as they broke into the area, laying off to the third for a simple finish.
On 26 minutes, the Gulls won a three kick from around just under 30 yards out. With regular taker Conor Hubble on the bench, it was left to one of the trialists, who made no mistake as he curled a delightful effort into the far corner to double the Gulls lead.
11 minutes later and it was 3-0, as the Gulls did well to work their way into the box, allowing another trialst to poke home and seal the contest early on.
The second half continued in much the same vein as the first, with both squads rotating their sides at the break, and Canvey continued to create the chances, though saw two goals ruled out for offside, and an improved visiting defence thwarting their chances, with keeper Josh Blackburn and defender Billy Willis a particular thorn in their side.
The Gulls now turn their attention to Tuesday night, where they host National League South side Aveley at the Steve Taxi's Stadium.
