On Saturday 30th October, we will welcome Burgess Hill Town to Park Lane as we compete in the Buildbase FA Trophy Third Qualifying Round, kick-off 3pm.
Last weekend the Gulls had a very impressive 5-1 victory at Bury Town. This result was even more impressive considering Mark Bentley's departure to Southend United just days before. Following that result, we now sit 4 points clear in poll position. The last time out in this competition, the Gulls won in a thrilling penalty shootout at Ware, Hertfordshire.
Now onto Burgess Hill, also known as the Hillians, apply their trade in the Isthmian League South East Division, which is the equivalent level to ourselves. They come into this match on the back of a 3-2 win at home to Sevenoaks Town on Saturday. They currently occupy 18th position after 9 games played. The last time out in this competition, they were victorious in the penalty shootout over Sevenoakes Town.
The last time ourselves and Burgess Hill met was in the Ryman Premier League 2016/17 season, finishing 2-1 to the Gulls at Park Lane.
Brad Wellman spoke to Chris Smith ahead of Saturday's game. "Another positive week for the boys. We have an opportunity to back up the good performance against Bury. The FA Trophy gives us a good chance to put a good cup run together. The supporters were great last week, and the boys are looking forward to playing in front of them at home!"
We would like to take this opportunity to wish everyone associated with the Hillians a safe journey and an enjoyable afternoon.

Clubhouse Information
The Premier League's 12:30 kick-off will be televised between Leicester City and Arsenal.
As previously mentioned; following the changes to the governments COVID restrictions, face coverings will now be optional when moving through our clubhouse. Our preference would be that people continue to wear masks, and we would encourage their use, although we will not be enforcing this.
The seating policy within the clubhouse has also been removed, meaning that supporters can sit or stand wherever they choose. We will however be maintaining the queuing system at the bar to purchase drinks.
