On Saturday 21st August, we entertain Waltham Abbey in the Emirates FA Cup Preliminary Round, kick-off 3pm.

As you may remember, we had an emphatic FA Cup run last season, resulting in two matches being shown live on the BBC & BT Sport. We finally exited the competition in the 2nd Round Proper, however we were so tremendously proud of the team for putting us back on the footballing map.

Waltham Abbey apply their trade in the Southern League Division One Central, which is the equivalent league to ourselves.

This is set to be an entertaining game between the two sides, with the winner progressing to the Emirates FA Cup First Qualifying Round. The last time that ourselves and Waltham Abbey met in a competitive match, was back in the 2019/20 season, when we won 2-1 in the Emirates FA Cup First Qualifying Round replay, thanks to a 90th minute winner from Jason Hallett.

If this match happens to be level at the end of 90 minutes, a replay will be required at Waltham Abbey on Tuesday 24th August, to determine who progresses through to the next round.

Clubhouse Information
As previously mentioned; following the changes to the governments COVID restrictions, face coverings will now be optional when moving through our clubhouse. Our preference would be that people continue to wear masks, and we would encourage their use, although we will not be enforcing this.
The seating policy within the clubhouse has also been removed, meaning that supporters can sit or stand wherever they choose. We will however be maintaining the queuing system at the bar to purchase drinks.
