Canvey Island recorded a 1-1 draw at home to Mark Stimson's Hornchurch at a wet Park Lane on Saturday afternoon.

The Urchins took the lead on 23 minutes when a ball into the box from Ellis Brown found Charlie Stimson at the far post. His shot was saved by Bobby Mason, but the rebound was tucked home by former-Canvey academy forward Ronnie Winn.

Canvey drew level six minutes before half time when ex-Urchin Tobi Joseph was brought down inside the box. Conor Hubble stepped up to take the penalty, and although the goalkeeper guessed correctly and dived to his left, the hand he got to the ball was not enough to keep it out.
