The Gulls continue their preparations for the 2026/27 campaign on Saturday afternoon as Brentwood Town make the short trip to the Steve's Taxis Stadium for another exciting pre-season encounter.

With the new season edging ever closer, Saturday's fixture provides another valuable opportunity for the Gulls to continue building fitness, sharpen match sharpness and further develop the squad ahead of the competitive action getting underway. Supporters can expect another competitive contest between two local sides looking to make the most of their preparations.

The Gulls come into the game following a narrow 2-1 defeat to West Ham United's U21s last weekend. In an entertaining encounter at the Steve's Taxis Stadium, Canvey produced an encouraging display against the talented Young Hammers, matching their higher-level opponents for long periods before a late West Ham winner settled the contest. Despite the result, there were plenty of positives for the management team to take, with the performance demonstrating the squad's growing cohesion and intensity as preparations continue.

Brentwood Town arrive at the Steve's Taxis Stadium after an impressive 2025/26 campaign in the Isthmian Premier Division. The Blues enjoyed one of their most successful seasons in recent years, securing a place in the Play-Offs, and progressed to the Final. Although they ultimately fell short against Billericay Town, the Blues proved themselves to be one of the division's strongest sides throughout the campaign. With high expectations once again heading into the new season, Saturday's fixture presents another valuable opportunity for both teams to continue their preparations in what promises to be a competitive and entertaining local encounter.

Directions to the Steves Taxis Stadium (SS8 7PX);

By Car:
Exit M25 at Junction 30 and take the A13 towards Southend. You will reach a series of mini roundabouts. At these roundabouts, take the A130 towards Canvey Island. At the next roundabout take the 2nd exit which will keep a sports centre on your right and follow signs for Canvey Island Football Club.

Eventually, you will enter a one way system. Keep left through the one way system and after one mile you will pass the Transport Museum on your right. Park Lane is on the right hand side shortly afterwards, with The Steves Taxis Stadium located in front of you. There is plenty of parking outside the ground.

By Train:
Benfleet Station is 40 minutes from London Fenchurch Street and 50 minutes from London Liverpool Street on the C2C line. The station is 5 miles from the ground. There is a taxi rank around the back of the station. Alternatively, you can use the frequent bus service from the front of the station.

By Bus:
You can use the number 22 or 27 bus to be dropped directly outside Park Lane. Alternatively, you can use the number 21 or 21A to be dropped by the sea wall. From here, continue walking in the direction you travelled across some playing fields, and you will see The Steve’s Taxis Stadium on your left.
