Supporters can look forward to an exciting return to football this summer as Ebbsfleet United make the trip to the Island for the first pre-season friendly of the campaign on Saturday 4th July. The match-up will take place at the Steve’s Taxis Stadium with kick-off scheduled for 1pm, as the two sides get their first run-out ahead of the 2026/27 season.

The visitors head to the Steve’s Taxis Stadium with plenty of quality and experience in their ranks following a competitive 2025/26 National League South campaign. After being relegated from the National League the previous season, the Fleet adapted quickly to life back in Step Two football and spent much of the year challenging near the play-off positions. Their season included strong home form, winning 14 out of 23 league matches at the Kuflink Stadium, impressive victories and a squad featuring experienced names, such as Kwesi Appiah and Dominic Samuel mixed with exciting younger talent.

Ebbsfleet’s campaign proved to be an inconsistent but competitive one overall, with the Kent side regularly remaining in and around the promotion conversation throughout the season. Supporters had expected them to compete strongly at the top end of the table following their relegation, and they produced a number of eye-catching performances during the year, for example, their dominant 4-0 wins over AFC Totton, Dover Athletic and Hampton & Richmond Borough.

The fixture promises to provide a stern early test and should attract interest from supporters eager to see football return during the summer months. Pre-season matches always offers fans the chance to see new faces and early preparations begin to take shape ahead of a new season.
