Our squad for the 2019/20 season will be without five players who finished the previous campaign with the Gulls.
The players to depart are Marlon Agyakwa, Sam Collins, Frankie Merrifield, Frankie Stone and Adam Vyse.
Winger Marlon Agyakwa re-joined the club ahead of the season for a second spell, making 40 appearances during the campaign and taking his total for the Gulls to 140, scoring 7 times during his two stints.
Sam Collins arrived from Concord Rangers during the summer of 2017, captaining the side in his first season. He spent most of last season covering at left back rather than in his more familiar central midfield position. In total he played 91 times for Canvey, scoring on 7 occasions.
Frankie Merrifield initially signed on a dual registration from Chelmsford City in December 2016 before becoming a permanent member of the squad. He played the majority of his 107 matches in midfield, but was pushed forwards into attack a the tail end of last season where he became a regular goalscorer. Scored a total of 23 goals during his time with the club, 8 of which coming in the final four matches of last season.
Frankie Stone arrived on work experience from Colchester United in November 2018, finishing the season in the starting XI at left back. He made 9 appearances during his time with us.
Finally, Adam Vyse was signed from Great Wakering Rovers in November 2018. He went on to score 6 goals in 23 appearances leading the line in attack.
We would like to thank all five players for their efforts and wish them the very best of luck for the future.
Announcements of our retained list and new signings will be made once the relevant paperwork has been made available and has been signed.
