On Sunday 6th May 2018 – It was home advantage for Haringey Borough for the second time in the playoffs, as Coles Park opened its gates to host Canvey Island. Last years playoff semi-final saw The Borough lose 5-4 to Maldon & Tiptree, however it was Thurrock who were promoted as playoff champions. On Wednesday night, Haringey enjoyed a 2-0 win over in-form Heybridge Swifts; both goals were scored by Jorge Djassi -Sambu. Canvey Island reached the final after achieving the same score line The Len Salmon Stadium; Sam Higgins headed the Islanders into the lead, and Ryan Charles doubled it shortly before half time. Haringey Borough completed the season in forth position with 89 points, which was 9 more than their finalist opponents secured. Canvey Island occupied the ultimate playoff position, which was hugely aided by Maldon & Tiptree’s decline in form. The Jammers lost the last four games of their campaign, and finished with 11 points fewer; and Heybridge Swift occupied fifth spot, with 7 more points on the board.
