Canvey Island make their final trip away from home of the season on Saturday afternoon, as they travel to Cheshunt in the Isthmian League Premier.

Our Opponents

The Ambers have endured a torrid season back in the Isthmian Premier following their relegation from the National League South last season. The threat of a second successive relegation is still a reality, as they linger just above the trap door of the drop zone, with Margate looking to suck them in after a recent uptick in form.

They are currently three points ahead of their nearest opponents, but have a better goal difference and a game in hand to play against Horsham next week, meaning their fate is still in their hands. They weren't gifted any favours last time out however, as a tough game away at playoff chasing Billericay Town ended in a 2-1 defeat.

Manager Craig Edwards has the experience and knowledge to keep his side afloat however, and they have players in their squad capable of stinging any side in the league on their day.
Industrious midfielders Jamie Reynolds and Billy Bates have become favourites among the Ambers faithful, while the goals of Alfie Pendlebury and Nmandi Nwachuku have been invaluable in recent months.

Our last meeting Ambers came back in November, as a Conor Hubble penalty earned the Gulls a 1-1 draw at the Moviestarr Stadium.

Canvey meanwhile, made it two wins from two for the first time since January on Thursday evening, as they won 2-1 away at Potters Bar Town.

Despite being reduced to 10 men midway through the second half, the Gulls showed their metal and won the match in the 96th minute, with a goal from Tobi Tinubu meaning they took all three points back to Essex.
