Canvey Island round out their February at home on Saturday as they welcome Carshalton Athletic to the Moviestarr Stadium for an Isthmian League Premier match.

Our Opponents

The Robins have enjoyed a solid season so far, with the club still in the playoff hunt after 31 games. They are in 9th place at the time of writing and are five points from 5th.

They have steadily picked up 7 points from their last 6 games, with four of those games being score draws. The last of these games came last weekend, with the Robins drawing 1-1 with fellow playoff chasers Enfield Town at the War Memorial Stadium.

Manager Peter Adeniyi will certainly want to keep momentum with the playoffs still in sight and he has the squad depth to accomplish just this. Squad stalwarts like Paris Hamilton-Downes and Danny Bassett can enforce his tactics amongst the squad, and in Oluwabunmi Babajide, they have one of the league's more promising strikers, with 16 goals to his name this season already.

The Gulls and the Robins have already met once this season, where a brace from Sam Mvemba and a Tobi Tiubu goal saw Canvey run out 3-0 winners on a Monday night in South London.

Canvey meanwhile, will be looking to get back to winning ways after a disappointing week on the road.

They were first defeated by Margate last weekend, with Lance Akins and Bradley Sach unable to overturn a Ben Greenhalgh hatrick in a 3-2 result.

They were then dealt a further headache on Wednesday night, with a George Porter brace condemning them to a 2-1 defeat at Cray Wanderers, with the Gulls unable to equalise despite Bradley Sach halving the arrears.

At home, they fared much better last time out, defeating Billericay Town 3-0 a fortnight ago.
